Brian Dilts: Songs

Untitled And Unfinished

(Brian Dilts)
February 2, 2009
Music and lyrics by Brian Dilts
Sitting alone, silently wishing
Wishing the sun would come out
And wake up the city

Walking into an endless black tunnel
Where is the light that will lead me,
Lead me to you?

Walking in fields, my feet touching blades of grass
I lay my head on a pillow,
A pillow of leaves

Looking down on an endless white waterfall
Remembering the ages of ancients
The sky was still blue

And I could wait here for 500 years
500 winters and falls
Summers and springs
Look out the window, the leaves turning blue
The clouds wash the pavement with gray, gray memories

Reading aloud against an aerial background
A tape loops a bird flying high up,
Above the earth

She feels her shadow detach itself
The shadow becomes the wing of,
The wing of rebirth

I walk in the street, my eyes darting round
Sometimes I wish it could be like it was
In my hometown

Walking into an endless black tunnel
That shines no light, I can’t see,
Nor hear any sound

But I could wait here for 500 years
500 winters and falls
Summers and springs
Look out the window
The leaves turning blue
The clouds wash the pavement with gray,
Gray memories

I could wait here for 500 years
500 winters and falls, summers and springs
Beautiful brown eyes, they break me in two
I run away down the road
I will be home soon
I will be home soon...

Sitting alone
Silently wishing
Wishing the sun would come out
And wake up the city...
