The holidays means a lot of different things to different people. To me it means stopping and enjoying the company of family and friends, exchanging some gifts and reflecting on the past year.

This year, a lot of wonderful things have happened to me. And I am thankful for what I have, and the love that is given to me every single day. I am excited to spend Christmas with my new wife and my family and friends.

However there are outside events that I find myself thinking of often this holiday season. I am troubled and saddened by the recent escalation of the war in Afghanistan. The words and music of John Lennon have seemed all the more relevant to me in this times. This piano arrangement of John and Yoko's "Happy XMas (War Is Over)" is a musical prayer of sorts: A wordless prayer for peace, in our time and all time. I truly believe this war, and all war, can end if people band together to try to create peace. Idealistic? Yes. But possible? Yes.

This is my way of both protesting the war and in a larger sense hoping and knowing that peace is possible, even in these decidedly non-peaceful times.

This song is available for free download, or pay-what-you-like. Hopefully you can find hope in it and share it with others.
